Happenings before baby arrives

Life has not slowed down. We are keeping busy before our baby girl arrives with our boys. Never a dull moment around here. Here are some of my favorite moments lately documented by my phone:
Buying wood to make Jackson a bookshelf

Someone found himself a treat

He got a little bored

Some sensory time while we build

Sometimes when they're quiet they aren't in trouble.
Sometimes...

Never a dull moment with this one.

Birthday treat at Red Robin

Jackson's teacher made him the most awesome birthday hat!

My exercise buddy.

Getting ready to brave the cold to get a walk in. We are determined to get things moving with this baby.

Jackson's 4th Birthday Party

With the baby being due a few days before Jackson's birthday, we had to celebrate a week and a half early. He didn't mind since he will be getting a few parties I'm sure. His wish for his party was that it was sea life themed with a blue octopus cake. Surprisingly, it was difficult to find generic sea life decorations so I spent a night cutting out sea animals and did my best to draw an octopus on his cake. (Could the cake be considered a Pinterest fail? Maybe.) He was SO excited for his party and did not mind being the life of the party! We sure love this little boy and are so grateful he's in our family!

The zoo and the plague

I'm pretty sure our family has been sick all winter long and when we get sick, it hits hard. We all get better for a week and then one person picks up another bug and we all get that one. At the end of December we had to get out of the house or we were all going to go crazy. We figured the zoo was the safest place since we wouldn't be touching anything to spread our germs and the kids needed some fresh air. Will was still pretty miserable but Jackson had the time of his life since the tigers and komodo dragon were out.

Christmas 2016

Christmas was pretty perfect this year. I love celebrating this holiday with my boys at their ages. They still don't quite understand the whole present thing so we get away with only a few gifts. I'm thinking we will keep this trend going so we can focus on the true meaning of Christmas.

We woke up, opened presents, went to church and came home to eat breakfast and play with toys. I would love for every Christmas to be like this.
